Isla
Bastimentos is in the archipelago and
province of Bocas del Toro,
Panama. It is about 20 square miles which
makes it one of the ten
largest islands in Panama.
Isla Bastimentos can be reached by boat only. The
island is mostly jungle. There are no
roads, cars or airstrips.
There are
indigenous
villages, one small town, a national marine
park, a few developments, eco
lodges, and individual home sites.
Frogs, turtles,
monkeys, sloths and other animals make
Isla
Bastimentos their home. The windward side of
Bastimentos includes many beaches
and great surf sites.
